“Good Day For It” was shot in Pennsylvania in November – December 2009 and long awaited ever since. After one time screenings at the Sonoma International Film Festival (where it won in April 2011 the Favorite Feature award) and several other festivals (Philadelphia’s Cinefest, the Nashville Film Festival and the Newport Beach Film Festival), it will finally be released in US, starting with Los Angeles on July 22.
Joe’s co-stars are: Robert Patrick, Hal Holbrook, Kathy Baker, Samantha Mathis, Mika Boorem, Lance Henriksen, Robert Englund, Richard Brake and Christian Kane. The movie was directed by Nick Stagliano.
The movie’s Facebook page features a long and insightful interview with Hal Holbrook and Robert Patrick, from which we learn about their shared passion for riding motorcycles (who would have guessed?), Mr Halbrook’s attempts to “break the land speed record” (again, who would have thought?) and other spicy bits. We have the chance to meet also the director and find out about the ups and downs of making an independent movie.
Joe’s part is rather small and all his scenes can be watched on Youtube (see below), but the movie is definitely worth seeing not only for him.
More information regarding the above release can be found at Back To Frank Black website.

DVD release
The DVD has been already released in Australia – buy.
It is imported to UK (order) and to US (order) via Amazon.com by a third party seller in limited quantity for a good amount of money. Watch for the Region notice! It’s listed by the same seller as Region 0 – i.e. “all regions” (but not player suitable) for US and Region 2 (Europe) for UK although the latter ships from NY, so it must be the same DVD, thus region protection remaining uncertain.
The US release seems to be scheduled on 18 October 2011 – get notified when it becomes available.
Unexpectedly, the DVD has also been released in Russia. По-русски фильм называется “И пробил час“. Можно купить лицензионный DVD на Озоне или скачать рип с него на ру-трекере.
