It started with Joe’s tweet at the beginning of the week:
27 Feb, 8:18 PM Off to Malmo Sweden this weekend. Who will be there? Can you fit a jet-pack in the overhead compartment? http://t.co/UzLpjKSj
Unbelievably, he continued to tweet on a (almost) regular basis:
1 Mar, 11:07 PM Hello Malmö, where did Copenhagen go already? For the god-fearing, law-abiding, non-drinking type, which town is best? Deduction works best
This is how we got to find out directly from him that the god-fearing, law-abiding, non-drinking Joe we all know has signed on to do the new AO4 video game for EA.
3 Mar, 11:56 AM Just signed on to do the new AO4 video game for Electronic Arts. Some splinter from Battlefield. Finally, my kids think I am cool again
The degree of coolness deriving from this is still to be established.
3 Mar, 12:20 PM Actually, showing how distinctively uncool I am, I think I have those games mixed up. Thankgod my kids don’t read twitter
During the Q&A session on Saturday, our friend Elly (aka @anyanka_eg) kept us twitter-posted with the following bits of news:
He says he and Jason have something in the pipeline, but gave no more info than that
he said he’s busy as it’s pilot season & he’s heading back to US to put ‘like 5 things’ on tape for showreels.
he said, when asked, that Atlantis fans basically gave the producers, who thought fans would watch anything, the finger
He seemed very pleased with the whole finger giving by fans
He mentioned 6 Bullets and said he and van Damme go on a killing spree and slaughter half of Moldova. Seemed pleased
he was recounting his job history (getting fired a lot) & was embarrassed to admit to once working for Republicans
he said he used the Dominoes 30 min guarantee a lot working at White House as security took 50mins to clear. Free pizza
We’ve also noticed an interesting little reveal about his character in Metal Hurlant, who might just turn out to be a baddie, judging from this hint:
“I play this crazy Blade Runner guy, I’m just terrible, I’m crazy, I get to beat up this hooker, I’m a terrible guy. I’m still the hero of the show, although I can’t figure that out. I’m looking forward to that.”
A wonderful photo gallery was put together also by Elly, and she is offering it for the viewer’s delight, with the kind request to be credited as author when / if pictures are copied and posted.
Thanks, Elly, for taking the time to share all these and have fun on the second day at the con!
